As more businesses are making use of the Internet to sell their products and services to customer's overseas, it can often be a challenge to be aware of and comply with local requirements for the secure storage of invoices. The supplier could find themselves in a vulnerable position if they are unable to prove the authenticity and integrity of their invoice if a customer requires auditable proof.
From 1st January 2013, the rules are getting easier to understand as the Council Directive 2010/45/EU, approved on July 13 2010, comes into effect in all European countries. This means that all businesses across Europe will be dealing with a single, simplified set of rules, making eInvoicing faster and easier to administer.
In response to these new EU regulations, Draycir, GlobalSign and SafeNet have collaborated to lead the way with a truly "paperless" invoicing solution. Businesses will now be able to use the PDF digital signing solution to verify the authenticity and integrity of PDF invoices sent using Spindle Professional to their customers, which will effectively meet two primary requirements of the EU directive.
